How the game works

  1. Choose a starting cell. In seat order (player 1 is Red, player 2 is Blue…), each player taps an empty cell to place a piece with three points. With three or more players, marked starting cells are spaced apart to prevent immediate captures in the first round.
  2. Charge up. On your turn, tap one of your own pieces to add one point.
  3. Burst. When a piece reaches four points, it bursts: its cell empties and one point flies up, down, left and right. Points that fly off the board are lost. (Provisional rule: pieces at edges and corners also burst at four.)
  4. Capture. Pieces you hit turn your color, keep their points and gain one more. If they reach the threshold, they burst too: a chain reaction!
  5. Win. Players with no pieces are eliminated and skipped. The last color remaining wins. The numbers above show how many cells each color occupies.

Variants

Bouncing (optional)

Off by default. For new games only: points bounce off edges and walls and return to their source cell. Excess points stay there; in Fortress the fifth point is still lost. A repeating chain reaction ends the game without a winner (cycle). Reaching the resolution limit also ends it without a winner, but does not prove a cycle. You can skip long animations without changing the calculated game state.

Music and effects

Music and effects are generated on your device. Sound starts only after your first interaction and pauses when the app is in the background. Support for the iPhone silent switch depends on the browser or app shell.
